2014 Year in Review

See 2012 and 2013 Year in Review

What a year!  As 2014 comes to a close, I wanted to look back and highlight the great things that happened and the fun things we did each month of the year.  I can't wait to see what 2015 has to bring, but for now, cheers to 2014!

January was pretty slow for us last year, but it did snow!  And we learned that while Brantley is a huge fan of the cold white stuff, sweet Ben is not. :)

We picked u the pace in February!  Early in the month we celebrated my niece's first birthday!

We also hosted a fun Valentine's craft playdate at our house!

And we took a fun trip to the aquarium with some good friends.

I went out with the girls and celebrated my grandmother's birthday!

And took my other beautiful girls to their first ballet!

We celebrated Easter all month long with egg hunts, crafting, and hugging! :)

And we had a beautiful Easter Sunday with our family.

We lost two very special men in our family, only one week apart.

We had a fun day strawberry picking for one of Brantley's last days of preschool. :)

This darling little girl turned three!!  And we had a fun day at Babyland General, picking out a Cabbage Patch Baby of her very own!

Then we added a new member to our family!  We adopted our sweet Dolly Girl on Gracie's birthday!

And at the end of the month we had a joint birthday party for both of our girls, and had an awesome Carnival Celebration!

In June, we completed our back porch redo!

Then our biggest girl turned 5 and got her ears pierced!!  BIG GIRL!

We joined MOMs Club, and gained a BUNCH of new and wonderful friends, and tons of fun things to do!

We ate LOTS of popsicles and watermelon on the front steps :)

We played with chalk, with the water table, on the bounce house, with our bikes, on the swing set, in the name it we did it!

We went to a splash pad with friends, to the pool, and ran through sprinklers.

We started off the month of July on the beaches of Edisto, South Carolina, with my family for a week!

While we were there, Gracie just up and decided that she was done with diapers, and was BOOM!  potty trained.  Did it all herself!

When we got home, Ben saw his first movie at the theater!

We ate 56 cent pancakes :)

Brantley took swim lessons!

Ben and I went to the Farmer's Market!

Scott and I went out on a date...

And we hosted our first MOMs club playdate!

We ended the month with another trip to Edisto, with Scott's side of the family.

What a month!!

My mama heart broke when we sent big girl Brantley to Kindergarten in August!

We celebrated our eighth anniversary and Scott's birthday with Vietnamese food and a night out!

Then we sent Gracie to three day preschool!

And at the end of the month we kicked off the football season, and started cheering on the Tigers!

We continued a tradition from my own childhood and went to the Yellow Daisy Festival at Stone Mountain!

We celebrated Nana's 60th birthday with a big surprise party!

And then celebrated cousin Elsa, err, Maddie at her fifth birthday party!

And my sweet, big boy turned TWO!

Happy Birthday, Ben!

We officially celebrated Ben with a Puppy Bark at the Park party!

Brantley ran in the fun run at school!  And we celebrated with fro-yo, of course.

We went to Food Truck Friday in Monroe and it was so much fun!

We went to the pumpkin patch...

...made Halloween Rice Krispie treats... station...

...and another pumpkin patch!

We went to Nashville for a fun adults only weekend, to celebrate my parents 35th anniversary!

We trunk or treated...

...did a little pumpkin math...

...and had a super fun Harvest Festival...

..and ate cotton candy bigger than our heads!

Then we rounded out the month trick or treating as Wendy, Tinkerbelle and Peter Pan!

Brantley was Star Student for the week!

We had family visit for a few days!

We had a fun day at the Yellow River Game Ranch!

We had another date night to a fun family wedding!

THIS happened. :)

I celebrated with this little Indian at her Thanksgiving Feast!

We hosted a fun Thanksgiving craft playdate!

We headed to Aiken to help deliver Thanksgiving meals to ACTS.

We had a wonderful and laid back family Thanksgiving at home. :)

What a December we had!

We had breakfast with Santa which was so much fun!

Decorated our tree and the rest of the house, ate cookies and drank yummy hot chocolate. :)

We hosted another fun playdate- cookie decorating!

We attempted a trip to visit the Grinch, but it wasn't so successful...

...but the pancakes were good and crafts were fun :)

Had family movie night at the theater!

We decorated a gingerbread house...

...and took a ride on the Blue Ridge Railway when we went to visit Bammy and Pa Daddy!

Scott and I got out for a fun dinner date and to see the Nutcracker!

Then we headed to Aiken!

We came home and baked lots of Christmas treats!

We dressed up for Christmas dinner...

...and Santa even came!

Then we relaxed...

...even played a little golf...

...and cheered on the Tigers to a bowl game win!

With cheese dip!

And a halftime show!

2014 was a wonderful year for our family:  Scott's business has grown and continues to grow, my Goat & Lulu business has continued to grow with more and more design ideas everyday, the kids are blossoming in school, are healthy, learning, growing, changing, and developing exactly like they should be.  Our family is so blessed, and I am so thankful for all the ups and downs of the year, the amazing friends and family we shared them all with, and each and every moment in between.  2014 was great, and I can't wait to see what 2015 has in store for us!

I hope your 2014 was a fantastic year for you, and I wish you all the very best in the New Year to come!  Happy New Years!!  See you next year!
