Six Months

It is so hard to believe that my favorite little boy is 6 months old.

Sitting Up.

Smiling, Laughing, Flirting.

About to grow out of his carseat!

Eating.

Jumping, Squirming, Rolling, Supporting, Standing.

Exploring, Learning, Investigating.

Charming. :)

Bennett is the happiest, most easy going baby, and I truly love the little part he plays in our family.  He's a no drama, go with the flow, cheerful little person, and we all just love him to pieces.

Nobody as much as mama, though. :)

So here are some of the things going on with Mr. Ben:

Ben is 19.1 pounds (70th percentile) and 28 inches long (95th percentile).  Brantley was 19 pounds at 12 months!  He's definitely the hoss of the family.  He wears 9 month clothes and some 12 month (!!!), size 3 shoes and size 3 diapers, almost size 4 (Grayson currently wears size 4 diapers!).  He smiles and laughs ALL the time and is ticklish on his chest! :)

He can sit up on his own for a little bit, and does better with support.  We are still seeing a lot of this, though. :)  But he doesn't mind, because he actually loves being on his tummy, and far prefers it to his back.

He is really becoming so curious and so inquisitive.  I know when he does begin to crawl, he will be ALL over and into everything.  He loves to be held and to be strapped to me in the bjorn, but he really loves to move, jump, wiggle, and be any kind of active.  He also loves to reach for things, grab toys, books, hands, toes, hair, cameras, keys, you name it, and shove them straight into his mouth.  No teeth yet, but I'm thinking they'll make their appearance sooner than his sisters' did.

He has started sucking his thumb, and prefers it to a pacifier.  I don't mind, since a paci is one less thing I have to worry about packing or having on hand!  Also, he can put himself to sleep sucking his thumb which has been great.

He is a wonderful sleeper, and since napping in his crib on his tummy, the past few days he has been taking a catnap in the morning and a rockstar 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon.  He sleeps 12-13 hours at night, going to bed around 7 and getting up between 7 and 8.  SO great for this mama that gets a lot done really late at night.  But I do go in and check to make sure he's breathing a little more often since him sleeping on his tummy kinda freaks me out. :)  Some things never change.

He's still drinking milk 4 times a day, about 8 ounces at a time, and eats 7-8 ounces of baby food twice a day.  He's made it though rice cereal, oatmeal, all the yellow and green veggies, and most fruits, and now we're onto meats!  He enjoyed a lovely dinner of ham, pineapple and rice tonight with a side of peas, and peach cobbler for dessert.  Not too bad!

This little boy is just the sweetest thing you will ever see and I truly can't believe
6 months have gone by.

A recap thus far:

We love you so much, sweet boy!  From the moment we first saw you, we were smitten.
