2012: Year in Review

Oh, 2012, what a wonderful year you were!  I thought that I would recount some of my favorite memories and highlights of this past year as it comes to a close and we welcome 2013!
My sweet niece, Miss Raleigh Jane was born!  Can't believe we're about to celebrate her first birthday!

Grayson painted for the first time!
She was so little! :)
Of course, Valentine's Day!

We visited the Yellow River Game Ranch and fed all the animals. :)
Also, we got the shock of our lives when I found out I was pregnant with Bennett (WHILE I was still nursing Grayson, so beware mamas who think you can't get pregnant when you're breastfeeding...YOU CAN!)!!
We celebrated B'mama's 80th birthday!

Brantley had her first Easter Egg Hunt at School!

And we celebrated the Markley twins at a carnival-themed baby shower!

We had a beautiful Easter. :)
And Brantley rode a pony for the first time at the Grayson Days festival. :)
And had a fun night at the Braves Game!
We celebrated my Dad's retirement and 60th birthday!
Enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day!

Celebrated my sweet baby girl's first birthday with an Ice Cream Social!
Then we celebrated mama's 30th birthday!
We started out the month at the beach with our Luton family!
Then we celebrated Miss Brantley's third birthday with Pancakes and Pajamas!
And went to Babyland General!
And then we were back to the beach with the Midkiff side of the family.
And Brantley took swimming lessons for the first time!
We had an awesome Fourth of July!
We did lots of swimming...
...and Grayson did a bit of modeling!
My big girl started preschool!
We celebrated Pop's 60th birthday
The flag art that all the grandkids made for his gift!
We celebrated our 6th anniversary and Scott's birthday!  The girls even made him a special pecan pie. :)
Then we also celebrated the new member-to-be of the family, Baby Bennett!
I started Goat & Lulu back up with wonderful success!
Brantley had Grandparents Day at school
And of course, the biggest event of our year, our sweet Bennett Rutland was born. :)

We started it off by celebrating Miss Sally Kate at Beth's first baby shower!

Brantley had her first Fall Festival at school

We did some pumpkin carving...

And has three super cute little bears for Halloween!

The Fort Mill Lutons came to visit!

Brantley had her Thanksgiving Feast at school

With the help of our friends and family, we donated 80 Thanksgiving dinners to needy families in Aiken, South Carolina

Gracie got her first haircut!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful afternoon at Berry's Tree Farm getting our Christmas Tree!

Noodles threw the girls a tea party when he arrived for the Christmas season!

And, December-
We started off hosting a Baby Shower for my brother and sister in law for their baby girl, Sally Kate, who's due January 28th!

We cried and laughed through Brantley's first Christmas Program!  It was so precious, and she sang the whole time and did every motion perfectly.  We were so proud!!

Hugs for sister after the show :)
We went on a Polar Express ride...

...and made lots and lots of Christmas goodies.

We celebrated Jesus' Birthday at school (through what else, but cookie decorating :))

We celebrated Christmas with our Midkiff family the weekend before Christmas.

Then we had a *magical* and stress-free and quiet Christmas Eve at home, just the five of us.

Then we had an even more magical Christmas Day, filled with matching jammies, Super Hero and Princess costumes, naps, homemade soup and horsie rides. :)

I apologize if you have temporary blindness due to the extreme white-ness of my winter complexion.  Not looking great at 7am these days.
Best. Picture. Ever.

Then we celebrated Christmas with our Luton family this past weekend.

And now here we are, on the last day of 2012!  We are planning on doing the same thing that we have done the past three years now, making a surf and turf feast, complete with 2 pounds of crablegs for me and only me, steaks, salads and potatoes, and plenty of wine and champagne.  Then after the babies are in bed, Scott and I will ring in the New Year on the sofa in our jammies. :)  Festive, indeed!
What an amazing year 2012 was for our family, and though this one will be a tough one to beat, I have high hopes for 2013.
Happy New Year to you and your family!!!
