Kentucky Hot Brown

Like I have posted before, I love Thanksgiving leftovers!  We made a turkey breast this year, but still had bunches of turkey leftover.  We decided to make a very classic open faced sandwich for lunch this year, the Kentucky Hot Brown.  So here's what you need:

1 Piece toasted white bread.
turkey slices
2 tablespoon flour*
2 tablespoons of butter*
1/2-1 cup milk*
1/2 cup shredded cheese*
salt/pepper
2 slices tomato
2 pieces crispy bacon

And here's how you make it:

Toast white bread.  Place on bottom of plate, top with turkey slices.  Then top with cheese sauce.*  After you have plenty of sauce, add tomato slices and bacon.  Tah-da!  Adn BTW...you want to eat this with a knife and fork!

*to make the cheese sauce...
-Melt three tablespoons butter over medium high heat in a non-stick pan.  Once melted, add the flour slowly, and whisk to combine.  Once it's incorporated, add milk slowly and whisk so not to get lumpy sauce!  Once sauce is smooth, and thickened to your desired consistency, add shredded cheese to melt and whisk into the sauce.  Season to taste.

This sandwich was so delicious and exactly what we needed, and used up the rest of our turkey!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and has been enjoying their turkey leftovers!!
